Hyeyoung came over today with a very pleasant surprise - Rooibos tea leaves from T2. She believes that the reason why I have cold feet (literally!) is because of poor blood circulation apparently Rooibos can help alleviate the problem. But I think it doesn't really matter because THE TEA WAS SO TASTY! Before today, I had absolutely no idea of such a type of tea. So it was interesting to hear her explain about Rooibos, it's origins and benefits.
Thereafter, she cooked what is possibly the tastiest dish that was ever made in my house thus far - chicken broccoli risotto. 凄くおいしかった! Totally took my breath away. Just look at it...
It was really awesome! I love it to bits! Not only was it pleasing to the eyes, it was pleasing to the palate. The difference in the texture of rice, the well-seasoned chicken, the abundance of vegetables (broccoli, carrots and onions) and cheese. Yongmin, if you're reading this, I finally found out what is the name of the cheese we had in NYC. It's Bocconcini. Here is recipe we used but we modified it a little by adding the vegetables, slices of red chilli, boccocini. We didn't use any white wine, neither did we we used lemon, honey and chipotle chili sauce.
I'm damn proud of Hyeyoung for whipping up such a delectable dish. And I'm going to try making it when I'm back in Singapore. :)
While we're at Hyeyoung's cooking, here's the creamy tomato chicken linguine she did on Tuesday.
Yes I know the lighting was horrible. It was awesome 'tho it still couldn't beat the risotto today. Oh and I learnt that it's possible to just slap pesto paste on bread and toast it (which was what we did.)
I guess there is definitely some truth to the saying, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". =)
