Oh, I forgot to mention that Day 1 ended with a frantic search for one of Hyeyoung's contact lens. But since she was sooo "happy" and I was kinda high, the search was abandoned after 15 minutes.
Day 2 started with resumption of the massive search. 20 minutes later, I was this close to turning the entire room upside down when I decided to check the case again and tah dah...!
The lens was surprisingly inside.
WTF.
Seriously... I have absolutely no idea why the fuck we couldn't find it the night before or why didn't it "appear" when she was putting on the other side in the morning. Fucking weird...
(Okay Kathryn and Jia, stop please reading here or ensure that your stomach is full 'cos it's going to be a list of food photos again.)
Anyway, we had lunch at Ramen Kan with Ihntaek and Jiyeon. I had:
A regular bowl of ミソラーメン(Miso Ramen)...
A small bowl of 海鮮丼 (Kaisen Don)...
A wee bit of Ihntaek's 唐揚げ丼 (Karaage Don)...
1/4 of the オムライス (Omu Rice)...
and, a few mouthfuls of Hyeyoung's and Jiyeon's ramen. Fuck. I was so full that I could hardly walk. Seriously, if you want to go to Ramen Kan, go there during lunch, grab the set meal and trust me, both your tummy and palate will be very satisfied.
The unfortunate thing about this trip was the weather in Sydney. It was so unpredictable. One moment it's bright and sunny, the next moment it's gray and gloomy. Or even worse, rain with crazy wind. So when the sun was out, my dear friends decided to play tourists in Sydney.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at Manly Beach. I think it's one of my favorite part of Sydney and if time allows, I would love to bring Qing there when she's in town. The following photos are taken on board the ferry while en route to Manly Beach.
Sydney's Harbor Bridge...
Glimpse of the Australian sun... Possibly my favorite photo from this trip...
The iconic Opera House... (Dark clouds were starting to gather.)
Docking point: Manly Wharf.
When you get to Manly, the number 1 thing you need to do besides going to the beach...
... is to have Fish and Chips!
I can't really describe why I prefer Manly over Bondi but I think it's because it has more to offer than just a beach...
Manly's just lovely isn't it?
All in all it was a fulfilling getaway during this hectic holiday. I got my hair done, tried Soju, met up with Jongyoun and most importantly, spent some quality time with Hyeyoung.
Exams are around the corner and the pressure is starting to build up. After all, it's going to be my FINAL exams as an undergraduate student. Hopefully all will work out fine. Meanwhile, I can't wait to travel again with Hyeyoung. It's been way too much fun. <3
