A very Singaporean dinner

Tried out another of Prima Taste's products last night, Sayur Lodeh. WTF is Sayur Lodeh one might ask. I too was unfamiliar with the term. I'd bought premix only because I saw the front image of the dish and thought that I recognized it. Well, apparently it's just vegetable curry that we can get from either a Nasi Padang stall or part of another dish called Lontong.

And like most of Prima Taste's premixes, it was extremely easy to cook, tasted very much like the real thing but, the portion was too small. Yes, that's one thing I dislike about their premixes, the small portion. Nonetheless, Brian, my chinese friend, enjoyed the dish (and the Sambal) so that was good. We had longan with grass jelly for deserts afterwards. It was a very Singaporean dinner indeed.

Still, that doesn't satisfy my craving for Tau Sar Piah. Perhaps dinner tomorrow at Din Tai Feng might make me forget about the craving...
