Making progress

[Andy Lau 刘德华 - 如果你是我的传说]

Omg. I must have been really tired. For once (since I'm back), I slept for 12 hours straight.

Yesterday marked the final day of the 7th Workshop on Human Rights Mechanism for ASEAN and I would think that it was a productive and successful one. A draft was produced and vetted by all 80 participants. I had so much difficulty getting my group members to agree in Poly, imagine getting all 80 individuals to agree. Hopefully, their efforts within the past 2 days would be translated into something more concrete when the ASEAN ministers meet later this year. That way it'd mean that their efforts would have been worthwhile.

With such a success, there is no wonder that everybody was merry when the workshop ended. I won't go into details but let's just say that I started drinking pretty early yesterday.

After work, I made a beeline to Plaza by the Park to join Jia, JX and Karen. Jia suggested that we try Helipad so we went and opened a bottle of Cape Mentelle's Chardonnay. Cape Mentelle, if you know, is owned by Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton and like Cloudy Bay, is better known for their whites. I know Jia prefers a Cabernet Sauvignon anytime but on a night like last night, a clear Chardonnay is very apt, especially when you're sitting on a "helipad" in the open air and we all know how humid this tropical Republic is.

Anyway, the 3 of them started rambling about their banking shit and me being a banking idiot, was really bored and I swore (if not out of politeness,) I could have just fallen asleep there and then. The music at Helipad didn't help either so we sua to Indochine's Forbidden City where there's more happening music and AIRCON!!! And believe it or not, I actually bumped into Dr Vitit and co. there! I tell you, Singapore is really THAT small. It was a sight to see Dr Vitit on the dance floor man. Bet Elaine would love to catch him breaking the dance floor. Meanwhile, Karen kept asking me to show her my Melbourne Shuffle moves, which are of course pathetic and not to mention the fact that I'm in formal wear.

Looking at the delegates drinking and dancing, I think there's no better evidence to say that 7th Workshop on Human Rights Mechanism for ASEAN was a success.
