The telling codes in the recent SDK (Software Development Kit), the sold outs at certain high profile Apple stores across the nation, the mysterious photo of a black, shiny iPhone, an article that speaks of the possibilities and THE ONE that spells out the obvious, these evidences only point to ONE conclusion...
The very hot rumor that Apple might be releasing a 3G iPhone
Problem is, I really need a phone... NOW! Having been though a similar situation with my PowerBook whereby I bought it 2 or 3 months before the release of the first generation of MacBook Pro, I do not wish for it to happen again should I buy a iPhone now. Then again, there's also the consideration of costs - whether the new 3G iPhone would be any cheaper (which is usually not the case) than the current 8GB 2G one. So even if it does release while I'm still in the US, I might not be able to afford it. Although Reuters reports rumors that the prices might remain the same. Well, I'd probably not be in US when Apple launches. Oh and there's the compatibility with the Japanese networks to think about. (2Gs definitely will not work in the land of the rising sun.)
So how? The question(s) remain... Should I buy one before I return or should I wait? If I should wait, how am I going to address the whole "phone-less" issue?
