A tale of THE city, New York City (Part 1)

[Young & Dangerous 古惑仔 OST - 热血燃烧]

This is going to be challenging (while trying to keep it entertaining) but I shall attempt to recall and tell my 'lil adventures during both trips to New York City.

Let's start from Union Station, Washington DC because that's where the adventure truly starts.

I remember it was a chilly morning. Zhengqi and I had just missed our train (again!) by a matter of minutes. Yet (another) rebooking and paying of extra fees followed by breakfast at Mcdees. Fortunately, it was no more than an hour before we were bound for Penn Station in New York City.

Upon arrival, we did the "tourists-who'd-just-arrived" routine - the traveling to our hostel and checked into our room. Yes, our room. Boy, was I impressed when I saw it. Flat screen HDTV, advant-garde shower, carpeted flooring, clean white sheets on both our beds and zen-looing, Muji-like furniture. This is was absolutely beyond my expectation of a twin room in a hostel on 101st upper west side. I mean, geez, we paid like no more than $90 per night for this room and it's absolutely marvelous.

And yes, there's always the other side of the coin which we discovered much later in the evening that THERE'S NO FREAKING HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER! There's hot water coming out from the taps but we just couldn't get hot water to the shower. I was getting impatient and hungry. And you know what they say, a hungry man is an angry man. The management transferred us to another room BUT to no avail. The other room didn't had hot water either. Poor (but brave) Zhengqi actually took a shower in the freezing cold water. I tried washing my hair first but the water was so cold that it immediately gave me a brain-freeze and a headache. Yes I know, I damn niang but the water's really cold! By then, I was already fuming mad and ready to unleash my wrath unto some pathetic staff but I was nice. I gave them another chance to fix it by the time I return tonight. Luckily for them, when I return that night, it was fucking late and i was high and tired so I didn't shower. =p (And double lucky for them, the shower worked the next morning.)

So where did I go that night that I actually got me self pissed? You know what? I can't remember at all! Hahaha... I can remember meeting Malcolm Kor (my dear cousin whom Qing is very fond of) for lunch at Souen and we had coffee (and cakes!) at Cafe Pick Me Up that's just beside Tomkins Square Park. Thereafter, we went up to the top of Rockafella Center and my memory blurs from there. I think we had dinner at J.G. Melon on East 74th but I can't be sure. Bollocks. I think I ought to go verify what we did that night with Zhengqi before I continue my story.

Damn. When did I become a goldfish? Opps. Myth's been busted (click on "goldfish" and you'd know why)! Gasp! Am I worse than a goldfish?!
