Yes lah Chalmers, you's da champion! And not just me. Mark, Dave, Peter, Jerry, Fuzzy (this other Asian dude) and John were all Spartan warriors. We were very special Spartan warriors though cause we were "sponsored" by various beer makers. Let's see, Mark was "sponsored" by
Milwaukee's Best, Dave's was
Coors, Jerry and Fuzzy's were
Bud light, John's was
Yuengling and lastly, Peter and mine's were
Natural light. Together, we formed the legion of
drunk Spartans who protected the King.

Well, this was just 3 of us, Jerry, Dave and myself. The rest were still putting on their "uniforms". Heh. You can't imagine the amount of effort the boys put into this shit. I probably only spent like an hour doing up my costume (with the help of Dave of course). I have no idea how many cases or duct tape we used. It was crazy! It's a pity though that we didn't manage to get a shot of all 7 us together as a section. 'Else that would have be awesome. Some of the very creative ideas amongst our friends include:

Lisalotte, the pink gum that was stuck under a shoe. Well, the shoe was supposed to be on her head...

Andrea and her gang who formed "the circle of death".
There were so many great costumes last night. To name a few more interesting ones, I saw Facebook, Indiana Jones, Neo, Dr House, Ali G, a really convincing
Leonidas with the great bod and beard,
Kurosaki Ichigo (without his Zangetsu which was confiscated by the cops but he had the hollow mask),
Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury, the Mario brothers, Tetris blocks and my oh my, this a really really hot female gangster, who I'd never forget. I'm telling you, she was smokin' hot and sweet at the same time. The way she walked... Mmmm... Filled with character. Very much like this girl I
know knew. Speaking of which, who the fuck would have thought Wikipedia would have a listing for
Chio Bu?! I was searching for the meaning of
Teabagging and chanced upon that some other day.
Anyway, I'd digressed.
Last night was definitely an eye opener. Franklin street was closed down as people would just walk around, hang out in their costumes. It was pretty much like a gigantic cosplay event at Akihabara (or so I'd imagine it to be). And you could tell people came from all over simply for a fact that I saw so many Asians (maybe around 5 worth shortlisting) who were definitely not from UNC.

And naturally, given how paranoid Americans are, they were a lot of cops around. Heck, there were even police choppers flying above us. I was telling Jonathan that if I write for the
Daily Tar Heel, I'd run a short story on the police, featuring their thoughts on the best and worst costumes and their thoughts throughout the night as they stood the entire night. It'd be an interesting article to read about them, I feel at least.
At the end of the day, I must say it was worth it. I got asked to take a couple of photos with some people (now I know how my sis feels when she cosplays), I experienced yet another true blue Tar Heel event and most importantly,
I met a chio bu gangster it was a memorable night with the boys. If I ever had the chance to do this again, I'm going as Borat! "Very nice, how much?" Hahahaha...
