August Rush = Rediscovering lost love

[Jonathan Rhys Meyers - This Time]

It's definitely been a while since I last caught a good movie. The last one was The Girl Who Leapt Through Time with Qing and I can't even remember the one before that. All I know is that ever since I was single and studying overseas, going to the movies have been tough. But today, I caught August Rush and it was so good!

Carly said that the message she took away from the show was about going after what's in your heart (or something like that) while I sorta knew Zhengqi would like the cello part. I forgot to ask June what she thought of it though. I definitely thought it was about "rediscovering lost love". It's not just boy-girl love in our usual Hollywood form. August Rush tells a story about parental love, the love for a passion and in this case, music, friendship (that's a kind of love too!), and of course, romantic love. I guess I took the show very personally as I'd been in Jonathan Rhys Meyers' shoe before. Plus, given the fact that I sent out THAT email not too long ago, I kinda hope that I'd be able to find what I'd lost. Unfortunately for me, that's highly unlikely.

As Louis (Jonathan's role in the show) sang for Lyla (Keri Russell), I couldn't help but think of her. When August sets off on a journey looking for his parents, I thought, "hey, I once thought of doing that too". And for some reason, I was so sensitive to every small progress in the plot development. I'm not going to lie but I did tear more than once while watching it. I hope none of the girls realize that. But yeah, it just created such a huge impact on me. Now, I'm even more motivated to attempt to fight and recover what I'd lost 1 and a 1/2 years ago.

Apart from that emo bit, the rest of the day was fun. Seriously! We visited the Lowe's Nascar Speedway, took a tour van that ran like 4 laps on the track. We visited Philips Place and it was such a beautiful place to be. It's definitely a place I'd bring my date to... when I get one that is. I wish there were more shops for guys though. Southpark Mall's next where there was a Christmas tree light up and a very good fireworks display. Which reminded me of my bump when I walked into the stupid pot of plants as I was coming out of the mall. It still hurts! Argh. Surprisingly, I'm the only person who didn't buy a single thing (except for that contact lens case which I forgot to bring). Not a single penny on shopping! Amazing huh? Later at night we hang out with JB, Carly's friend from high school, and we had a pretty crazy time hanging out. That is why I'm officially tired and thirsty.

*Goes downstairs to get a drink!* Later yo.
