Yes, it's confirmed... I'm going to UNC-CH. After months of uncertainty, the long awaited email finally came yesterday at 1:44am. Now, the HUGE logistical nightmare really begins. For starters, you have no idea how difficult it was to carry that massive package back from FedEx today man. What more about packing my stuff and shipping it over to NC. Kao(!), even the process to apply for an F-1 visa (I think that's what it is) is a bitch man.
I was researching the other night about the different flight configurations that's avaliable and you'd be surprised at my findings:
Singapore Airlines: Singapore-Frankfurt-New York(JFK) = $2,594
Singapore Airlines: Singapore-New York(EWR) = $2,594
United Air Lines: Singapore-Chicago/Washington/Narita-Raleigh = $$2,603
BUT...
Lufthansa: Singapore-Frankfurt-Chicago/Washington/Philadelphia/Charlotte-Releigh = A WHOPPING $22,564!!!
SMLJ?! Where got so expensive one? I chose economy seats some more leh. Kao!
Anyway, as I was telling Kenny and Rus, this exchange feels more like an actual studying aboard. Unlike my "expedition" here, I had close friends who'd been studying in Australia thus I'm familiar with the "system". Plus, I had Rus by my side so there's virtually zero fear. I don't have to worry about visa, lodging, getting lost, making new friends etc. But this adventure, I'd be embarking on it alone. Word has it that my daddy's probably not going there with me too.
It's exciting on one hand but on the contary, everything has to be checked and double-checked. And I wonder, will the Clique send me off this time because it's quite a big thing for me... Hey, I won't be back till May and if the Okayama lobang settles, I'd probably only be able to catch up with them at the end of 2008. I bet I'd so miss all of them and all my other friends as well.
But before all that, let me transit through this semester smoothly first.
