A satisfying trip... (Part 2)

Day 3 started very late because day 2 ended at like 4+ am. Maybe even 5-ish since Kathryn bunked in with us and we chatted a bit before sleeping... So we woke up at like 11 and both Eugene and Meliza were so hungry and I felt so guilty. :( First on the list was to proceed to Sydney Fish Market to wack seafood. Unlike Melbourne girls, Canberra boys are very (and I mean VERY) deprived of seafood. So we wack 1 normal seafood platter, 1 grilled seafood platter and 2 huge portions of salmon sashimi. I was so damn full after that lah! After the heavy lunch, we returned back to city and separated cos Eugene and his new-gf need time together. So they went to shop while Yu Ying and I went back to our service apartment before proceeding to QVB to have afternoon tea.

Cake and my skinny flat white for afternoon tea... This is what a holiday should be.

Because we're going for a dance performance at the Sydney Opera House later, I had to go back to change into a shirt and good thing I did because I caught one of the most beautiful sunsets in the trip. (The other was over Darling Harbor while I was in the subway with Kathryn on day 2.)

Dinner was at the famous Pancakes on the Rocks at where else, The Rocks lah! Given the heavy lunch and afternoon tea, Yu Ying and I were very full so we decided to share instead. Here's what we had.
Yuying and mine shared this Hot 'N' Troppo...

Eugene and Meliza had this Blueberry Heaven.

After that was the highlight of the day, Push, at the Sydney Opera House. OMGG, there's a reason why Push is so acclaimed! It was sooo good! There were 4 segments in the 1.5 hour performance - Solo, Shift, Two and of course, Push. The first three were solo acts by either Sylvie or Russell and they paired up in the finale, Push. I wish I can go into details what each segment was about but without pictorial aid and insufficient technical knowledge, I can't give a good solid review. In any case, the entire performance was so worth the $40 I paid! The choreography is good, the music is good, the venue is (of course) good and even the lighting is good. If Push ever comes to Singapore in the future, I confirm will go catch it again man.

Day 4, which is also the last day, was spent on Manly beach. I keep thinking I've been there before but when I actually got there, I didn't find the place familiar in any sense at all. That brings us to the question, "which was the beach that I went to the other time?" Anyway, I digressed. We took a ferry from Sydney Harbor to get to Manly beach. Lucky me, I had the Sydney concession sticker on my ANU student card so I paid half of what the Melbourne girls had to pay. :) The ferry ride took 30 mins but it was a fairly scenic ride. (The following photos were taken on both the going and return leg of the ride.)

Lucky for us, the weather was excellent - sunny with a breeze and Manly is indeed quite a nice place. Kudos to Yu Ying for suggesting it!

As you could probably tell, lunch was beer-battered Fish & Chips for me and I had dessert too! Can't remember the name of the dessert but it's Italian and very yummy. It's like a spin-off of a donut with cheese stuffing.

Going back was a bit of a rush but we did manage to take one last group photo together...

I have tons of comments for this trip but let me sort them out first and then I'd write one last concluding entry on the trip k? But in short, it was a very good trip b'cos I'd accomplished most of the items I'd set out to do and I didn't shop at all! All the money was spent on transportation, food and accommodation. I'm so proud of myself! :)

Me againXP OK so my frd and I did pancakes on the rocks for dessert yesterday. (Took us some time to find the place...your directions are too vague laXP) I'd say they are pretty good - but you know pancakes are not really sth that amaze people like, say. chocolate truffle cakes (haha i really love my choco truffle cake back in hk)...they are not like super wonderful desserts I have in mind. Anyway, good recommendation, esp for original flavor pancakes. Choco ones are not as good.
