The main highlight of today's trip is to see the 瀬戸大橋 (Seto Bridge). Our first destination was to view the bridge from some high point. Never will I ever imagine that 支先生 would bring us to this place...
The sight of the roller coasters simply made me dizzy. Surprisingly, 洪德 (a usually gutsy guy and our school's baseball player) doesn't dare to sit roller coasters too. Hahahaha... 支先生 had no choice but to drive to the original viewing platform instead. There... The view was gorgeous. The world's longest two-tiered bridge system is really quite a sight. The gigantic structure dwarfs not just the surrounding vegetation but the islands it connects as well. As you look at the cars, trucks, buses and trains that's on the bridge, you will know that the purpose of this magnificent structure is no doubt larger than life itself.
Next stop was 与島 (Yo Shima), one of the islands in the island group, 塩飽諸島 (Shiwaku Shyo Dou), the bridge connects. Driving on the bridge to the island was quite an experience. The wind was so strong that the car was swaying on its own. I've driven in valleys and on mountain ridges in both America and Australia but I guess nothing beats the wind from 瀬戸内海 (Seto Nai Kai). Essentially, 与島 is a puny island with nothing. We bought some お土産 (Omiyage), 吉備団子 (Kibi Dango) in what else but 白桃 (peach) flavor. ;) Then 支先生 bought some 四国 (Shikoku, where the islands are,) のお土産 for our fellow colleagues but I can't remember the name. I think it's some lime flavored candy. All I could think of is what would 松本先生 like to eat.
