[Mariah Carey - Love Takes Time]
So once again after a night of booze, Zhengqi and I woke up late. Lunch was in Chinatown (East Broadway Street) after a brief meeting with Andy and his crew, Chuan and Hardik. I had never been to East Broadway prior to that day. Chinatown on Manhattan to me had always revolve around Canal Street. So there's no wonder that we took almost an hour to find East Broadway. By the time we were done catching up with Andy & Co., we were famished.
We had lunch at this Hongkong-looking place; you know, the ones that hung 叉烧 and 烧鸡/鸭 by the windows. It was as authentic as it looked. Check out the 叉烧...

Between the both of us, we shared a plate of 阴阳炒饭, a plate of 叉烧 and a bowl 雲吞 soup. It was a cheap, simple but very gratifying meal. After that, I brought Zhengqi to have 豆花水. Memories of drinking it with my sister instantly flooded my mind. Even now, I miss doing that with her. (Note to self: MUST GO TRAVELING WITH QING!)
After lunch, we made a bee line for the UN Headquarters on 42nd, just a few blocks away from Grand Central Station. We did the tour which was very educational, especially when you're a security/peace, war and defense major student.
My visitor's pass...
The room where the big boys play - Security Council Chamber (MY FAVORITE!)
And of course, the General Assembly Chamber. The UN HQ was definitely one of the main highlights of this visit to NYC and I'd recommend it to anyone. You don't have to be studying about politics or international affairs to learn from this place.
I remember after the tour, we sat somewhere to have our 油条 and 豆花水. It was SO shiok! Had the 油条 been fresher and the 豆花水 warmer, it'd be perfect, 完璧 (かんぺき)! Dinner was with Andy & Co. at some ulu "ul-tah" place in little Italy, totally not worth mentioning. I remember Chuan BYO-ed a bottle of vodka (or whatever's left of their bottle). Then we made a PATHETIC attempt to make the night happening. We drove to the "Meat Packing District" where some of the most atas clubs were (think Lambos and Maseratis). BUT, our dear
Hardik HARD DICK was too cheap so he wanted to go somewhere else. So lan lan, we left the place. To make things worst, I got conned by some chao nigger to buy their fucking "albums". I probably lost 20 bucks and was so fucking furious that I threw the CDs at the cars the minute I walked away from 'em. I was also fucking pissed that NONE of the guys came over to help me. They stood far away, like some wusses with their tails between their legs. Argh. So I damn buay song about the night already. I called Brandon who grew up in NYC for some recommendation. Turns out that St Patrick's Day was around the corner so the bar he recommended was quiet. We walked to St Mark's Place but because it was already late by then, St Mark's was quiet too. You tell me pek chek or not? Meanwhile, the Hard Dick was being a total prick so I just remove the "seal" and unleash my wrath unto him, in a very subtle way of course. I wouldn't want to put the rest in a awkward position. So turns out that the night was the most fruitless and zho boh lan night of all time. Luckily I was a 'lil tired so by the time we got back, I just crashed. If not poor Zhengqi would have to hear me bitch about the night.
Next up, last day in NYC and us missing (AGAIN!) our flight back to Raleigh...
