A tale of THE city, New York City (Part 3)

[SPEED - All My True Love]

Warning: No picher + Boring/wordy post ahead!

Ah... It's time for Part 3 of this series. Allow me to continue from where I left off in Part 2 (before I went on to talk about what happened on the night of day one in NYC), where Zhengqi and I decided to return to UN the next day...

Well, I can't let the fact that we missed the UN to affect Zhengqi right? So I brought him to Wall Street from Central Station. There we saw the NYSE, and some cathedral but I still couldn't find the bull. Zhengqi bought some DVDs from the Wall Street Borders and I managed to take a better photo of the Tiffany store to replace the shaky and blur one I took when I was there with my sis. By the time we're done with Wall Street, it's about time to get ready for the real highlight of the day...

Phantom of the Opera!

You see, we'd bought tickets for the show the night before, so it was about time to collect our tix and have a early dinner. After collecting our tickets, we settled for dinner at this Japanese restaurant called Kodama. (Actually the place is I choose one.) Nonetheless, it turned out to be an excellent choice. It's not because all the staff were Japanese nor because they had a shop-front selling Japanese stuff but (yep! you guessed it!) they had the cutest (Japanese) waitress I'd ever met in NYC! Even now, her face pops up at the thought of the restaurant. Zhengqi on the other hand preferred/thought that the girl that's behind the bar counter is cuter. I totally disagree. But 美少女 aside, the food at Kodama was just as chio tasty. I can't remember what I had but I remembered Zhengqi having some Tempura set which was pretty good. Oh we had Sashimi for appetizer and not only the Sashimi were very fresh, the cuts were good too. If I'm ever back in that part of NYC again, I'd definitely give Kodoma a visit.

So about Phantom of the Opera... Surprisingly, I'm the last person in my family to catch it. My sister caught it in London in her teens, my parents caught it when they were in Singapore last year so I suppose now's my turn. Phantom's also my first ever broadway show on in Broadway, New York. How exciting! After our very "fulfilling" dinner, Zhengqi and I proceeded to Majestic Theater, where Phantom is being played. The theater so elaborately designed that it was simply breathtaking. I won't say much about the actual musical to prevent spoilers but Phantom really set a new benchmark for my musical experience. Speaking of experience, I remembered that I was damn emo after the show because I could so relate to the Phantom and his love for Christine.

After the show, we meet up with Anna and James at Hard Rock Cafe because James had to satisfy his years of craving for its dunno smlj brownie. Anyway, they were both late and I wait until I was a bit pissed. Apparently, James tua-ed Yusuke whilst he was late for our appointment. Yusuke was damn pissed with him. So I guess it was pretty surprising that we (Zhengqi, Anna, James, Yusuke and yours truly) actually met to have drinks. I think we were all giving face to Anna. Well, our drinking session wasn't the most happening because we started out late (thanks to you-know-who) but Yusuke showed me a trick or two with his "skills". The night ended with Udon supper at Udon West - a place that even now, the thought of it makes me salivate...

Next up for Part 4... Char Siew Fun at Chinatown!
