So here I am, at Carly's place in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's really nice to be able to spend this holiday with her and her lovely family. So Carly, if you're reading this, nothing can show how appreciative I am of you and your family's hospitality. =) I'm sure it's going to be an awesome thanksgiving this year. In fact, I was so excited today in class that I couldn't concentrate at all! Funny thing is when Carly asked what was I excited about, I couldn't exactly point it out. I guess it's just the thought of having an all-American Thanksgiving. I'd spent some time with an Australian family last year and it'd be really cool to see how life is like for the typical American family, especially during this festive season.
I'd volunteered to sleep in her "Media Room" and although I'm offered a air mattress, I'm going to sleep on the couch. For some reason, I just felt like sleeping on the couch. Only when I started typing this entry, did I realize that it's because it reminds me of the times I'd spent at Iris' place. The countless Take That concerts (omg, I can still hear the girls screaming), the hang-out afternoons and, the sleep overs. Memories of my secondary school days man. Oh and I don't believe it, despite being such a seasoned traveller, I had forgotten to pack my contact lens case! What an idiot lah. I had to like use two wine glasses to hold them. I hope Carly won't be disgusted.
Honestly, while I'm truly excited about spending time here and all, I'm not feeling as good now. It's a mixture of emo-ness, anxiety, frustration and stress I guess. Well, it's late so I'd try and sleep on it. Tomorrow's going to be a big day because we're going to Lowe's Motor Speedway, a NASCAR speedway! How cool is that? NASCAR is one of the few sports that I wanted to catch while I was here but I guess visiting the Speedway's good enough. Well well, sleep beckons. This is random but here's a photo I took today like in the evening.
