Yes. I do realise that it's been a while since my last entry. In fact, a while is quite an understatement.
Well, the long and short of it is that some 2 weeks ago, I've embarked on a top secret project, codenamed Hayate (疾風). Some of you might have heard me talking about it but to those that don't, the project should be declassified by mid-October, when it's due for completion.
Also, it doesn't help that at the same time, I have tons of papers and tests due. The coming 2 weeks are no exception.
Nonetheless, I did find time to make a quick trip with Robert and Zhengqi down to Tampa, Florida last weekend to collect Robert's car. You see, Robert bought his car (a '99 Lexus ES300 Coach Edition) through eBay. The agent that sold it was located in Tampa so when I learnt that Robert wanted to travel down to Tampa and collect his car, I offered my services as a alternate driver (I how nice?). Then Zhengqi got to know about our little adventure and decided to come along too, which is great because, that means more company! And so on friday afternoon, we took a bus to Raleigh where we boarded an Amtrek train to Tampa. The entire train ride was like 15 hours 20 minutes lah can?! We collected the car, had lunch and immediately set off on our mini-road trip which saw us arriving back in Chapel Hill at 4am, Sunday morning. The only 2 stops we made were a Wal-mart stop, a coffee stop and a dinner stop. I figured that given the distance we'd travelled in the car, we'd had already travelled from Singapore to the Border of Thailand. That's FUCKING far lah!
Anyway, here are some photos:
But that's not all to the recent weekend.
Because on Monday, there's a mock September 12th 2001 cabinet meeting and because I'm supposed to be the Joint Chief of Staffs (Central Command), I needed a suit. So after like 8 hours of sleep on Sunday, I flew to the factory outlet and got myself a suit (complete with shirt and tie). Needless to say, I burnt a HUGE hole in my wallet. I really should had brought my suit with me when I came over. Damn! But it was great fun on Monday as our prof who's supposed to be POTUS (President of The United States), grilled everybody in the cabinet just like how it was on the actual day. I wish I could have more inputs though. That entire role-playing thingy sure brought back memories of my Mass Comm days in Ngee Ann where there's plenty of hands-on interactive learning.
Alrighty, right now, I'm HAVE to churn out a 1,500 word paper within the next 48 hours.
