Haps but tired

[Leo Ku 古巨基 - 爱神]

For the first time, I drove on the left side of the car this afternoon. Everything looked so different. I probably adjusted the rear view mirror like a zillion times. No matter how it's tilted, everything just looks weird and wrong. While making turns at the junctions, I almost drove into the wrong lane (i.e. wrong direction) like twice. And lucky I found a vertical parking lot cause I'm so incapable of doing a parallel parking from the left side of the car. All these was in a short 5 minute drive within the UNC campus. So I decided, "No way I'm going to drive on the highway to Raleigh later."

Earlier in the day, Robert and I walked like 2 miles to rent a car so that I can get to Durham to buy my scuba gear. It was a chop-chop affair as Robert has to get back earlier for a job interview. In the end, we got lost on our way back and he'd to re-schedule the interview to 1.5 hours later. Had he missed the interview, I'd feel very bad man. Anyway, here's the loot...

My 1st scuba gear...
Mask: Tusa Powerview Mask
Snorkel: Mares Hydrex Flex
Fins: Mares Volo Power
Boots: Akona Standard 3mm Boots

As bimbo-tic as I might sound (and I don't care) but red is the colour theme for my equipment. I almost bought the Tusa SF-8 Xpert Zoom Fins because it's the only red fins that the shop carries. But I figured, I should just start off with a more normal set of fins before moving on to split fins. Now with all that rush while buying the gear, I'd completely forgotten to get a pair of trunks and goggles (Darn! I almost spelt "googles". HA!). So while we still have the car for tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can get them at Dick's Sporting Goods.

Today also marks my first visit to Raleigh. The city's pretty small (even compared to Canberra) but there's tall buildings!

The only pity was that it was kinda late by the time we got to Raleigh. But we did managed to visit one of the bigger indoor malls called, Crabtree Valley Mall or something like that. It's quite a good mall - simply because it has quite a few shops that I'd buy stuff from. Dinner was at Applebee's where I had steak+salmon.

The only bad thing was the sucky service. Other than that, I'd definitely go back for dinner again. But probably to another franchise.

And so the happening day ended. I'm so exhausted. Guess laundry has to wait till tomorrow...
