So what's THAT ho-liao I passed to Russell?
A few days ago, by the imperial edict of Russell Huang, I was task hunt down for a memorable piece of our past. Alas, after a search in Wikipedia, a few clicks and a registration at a website, I'd fount it.
Like a small boy opening the box of his newly bought toy, the eagerness was overflowing as I watch the program loaded...
First the credits...

Then the introduction...

Finally... The all-so-familiar menu!

Within minutes I was up and running Province No. 4 with Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei...

This, people, is the infamous Romance of the Three Kingdoms II or 三國志 II as it's known in Japan.
Boy... This really bring back a lot of memories. How instead of practicing our Maths in the Computer Labs, we would be tapping the keypad furiously as we try to unite China during the era of the Three Kingdoms. Then back at home, I'd stay up into the wee hours of the night (mind you, school starts the next day at 7 am), tapping the keypad. We were so good that if you look at how we tap the keypad, you might even mistake us for accountants or auditors. Provinces were managed, wars were fought and alliances were formed... All by the simple tapping of the keypad. Those where the days before Mac OS X, Windows Vista or even Windows 98. Gosh, the game ran in freaking MS-DOS.
With the advancement of technology, I managed to get this ancient game to run on Mac OS X, complete with the sound effects as well! Power right? Can even play in fullscreen mode some more! Of course I enlisted the help of a MS-DOS emulator, DOSbox to do the job for me. At first I was skeptical as I wasn't sure if it would run on a PowerPC Mac as opposed to a Intel Mac. Now I hope the PC version that I'd downloaded for Russell would work on this Windows XP.
Now now... Time to plug in that Mac Keyboard. But first... JAPANESE REVISION! (~_~)
