Locked out (part 2)

[Vonda Shepard & Dan Hill - Can't We Try]

So... I'd totally forgotten about that one important factor that has the power to swing the favour of the situation. The ultimate deciding factor...

Fate.
命运。
運命(うんめい)。

Fate can give it that extra push, that extra tug. A gentle whisper by the ear, a unidentifable feeling, a coinicidence. Yes. A coincidence. An opportunity, chance that fate has so conveniently placed in your life. Just like how you might have thought you were locked out when the truth is that the door isn't locked at all. So all you need to do is to put your hand on the knob and turn. But life's never that smooth nor easy. The door might happen to be unlocked but something could be blocking it, preventing you from opening it. If that's the case, what can you do? Nothing. There's nothing you can do. Try as you might but fact remains, the door will not and cannot open.

But I'm happy. I'm happy that fate has given me the coincidence today. I'm happy that I'd not just put aside all my thoughts but also gathered the strength to turn the knob. The door opened slightly ajar. Till the day I realise that I'm trying to open the wrong door (which is why I can't open it), I'd still wait by this door. For the simple reason that this is the door that I'd so choosen; not by my logic nor my eyes, but my heart.

For now, I put all my faith in this major factor called, fate.
