The day I felt damn "seh"

Feeling | Still slightly seh
Listening | 五月天 - 天天想你
Thinking | "My essays and assignments how sia? I'm so screwed"

For some unknown reason, I've been damn seh the whole day. It's like I was having this massive hangover. But the thing is, I didn't even had a single drop of alcohol yesterday. This afternoon after lunch was the worst. I couldn't even concentrate on what I'm saying. I know what I'm saying but I can't think very straight. It really felt damn bad. Luckily now I feel better. If not die man. I don't need to finish my assignments liao.

Okay. It's time for A.A.R. (after action review) on Julep Lounge. Well, for one, the place's decor is quite nice. The V Tea Room kinda feel, only with dimmer lighting. There's a small bar corner where we had pre-dinner drinks. I had this cocktail that was conjured in 1900 in Paris called "Sidecar" - Hennessy, Cointreau and a dash of lemon juice served in a glass with a sugar-coated edge.

Honestly, it was the "made in Paris" part of the description that caught my eye. Not that I have a taste for either Hennessy or Cointreau. But I must admit, Sidecar isn't quite what I'd expected but I'd probably try something else the next time.

Dinner was the winter menu of the 6 course degustation menu with a glass of wine served at each course to compliment each course. Here's the courses:
1. Appetizer: Slow braised beef cheeks served with wild mushrooms, artichokes and a parsley oil; Wine: Coriole sangiovese, Mclarenvale, S.A.
2. Appetizer: Pan seared lemon infused king prawns served on confit tomato, a shallot and chervil salad, finished with tomato aioli; Wine: Villa maria private bin Sauvignon blanc, Marlborough, N.Z.
3. Appetizer: Oven-roasted pork belly served on a beetroot puree and finished with a honey thyme jus; Wine: Villa maria Pinot noir, Marlborough, N.Z.
4. Main: Atlantic salmon fillet served with a broccoli flan, sautéed baby vegetables and a grape beurre blanc; Wine: Brokenwood Semillon, Hunter valley, N.S.W.
5. Main: Oven roasted beef fillet served with a cannellini bean mash, slow roasted eschallots and a marbled truffle jus; Wine: Vasse felix Cabernet Merlot, Margaret river, W.A.
6. Desert: a mixed tasting plate of the chef’s daily selection; Wine: Seppelt’s Tokay, Rutherglen, Vic.

Something cool about Julep Lounge is that before the appetizer, there was this tomato, ginger soup served in a shot glass and before the main, they served this "sorbet palate cleanser" which was extremely refreshing. Although typical of a fine-dining restaurant, the food came in plates that were too big but I must say the serving was just right because after 3 appetizers, 2 mains and deserts, I felt neither too full nor half-empty. Needless to say, everything was tasty. Each course was licked clean. The wines on the other hand was only mediocre (the desert wine was the worst I tell you, pui!), expect for one which was very very good, the Villa maria private bin Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand. It's damn clear, refreshing and smooth. Definitly not the usual Sauvignon Blac. Unfortunately, due to the dim lighting, the photos were too dark as I didn't want to take 'em with flash. I'd look like some ku ku lah can? And so, the most important question, "Will I go back again?" My answer's "Yes. But only on occasions or with my girl". And now for my field report on Sydney. I tell you, I went on a shopping spree lah. 2 jeans, 4 tops and a bag. I think all in all (including accomodation and meals) I spent slightly less than $700. Crazy man. If my dad knows this, he'd murder me! Nonetheless, I'm very happy with my buys, especially my G-Star jeans. Can you imagine, 50% discount?!?! Of course must wack lah. Lucky for me, my $400 G-Star Raw was on sale and it had my size! Tell me, how not to buy? FCUK also got sale but I bought a regular-priced item lah. Personally, I find it quite cute. Ha. Saturday's dinner was yet another pricy one - Hurricane at Bondi beach. I tell you, the seafood platter's huge and yummy!

Look at the lobster man. *Slurps* A glass of Heineken to go with the seafood, oh... Simply Heavenly. I was so full after it that I thought I needed a wheelchair. No wait. That's after the Dim Sum that I had earlier in the day. I was so happy wacking that the only picture I have of the Dim Sum is this:

Hahaha... Well, I guess you can say I pretty much enjoyed myself. It's sure nice to live the life of a tourist. Hopefully I can go again during the mid-semester break with the gang. I'm sure it'd be so much more fun! But I mustn't spend so much the next time. But quite impossible lah. We sure go wack factory outlet one loh. Sigh, really ah... "穿这么美给谁看?" *Shakes head and sighs* I don't know man...

Fro the corner of my eye, I can see the "You've got message" button on my phone keeps flashing and it's quite irritating. I thought I deleted all my messages? Argh. My eyes are so tired but yet I have a composition to write. Hmmm... Maybe I might just pull the same old trick I did last semester. *Evil laughter* See how lah. I should go take out my lens first.
